Best Days of my life....

'I got my first real six string,
Bought it at the five and dime,
Played it till my fingers bled
It was the summer of 69..'

This song was being played on my PC when I was packing my things for the Inter Demonstration Meet 2010. For those of all who don't know about the song, it is Bryan Adam's greatest hit song. Do I have to explain more about him? And you all must be wandering what is this Inter Demonstration Meet. Well, I am a student from Demonstration Multipurpose School which is directly under NCERT and there are four such schools in India including mine, i.e. in Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Mysore and Ajmer . Every year, some selected students from these four school come to participate in the inter demonstration meet to show their skills in various fields and of course, to keep their respective school's name high. Each year, a school is chosen as a host. This year, it was Bhopal.

As I was packing my belongings while listening to this energy filled song, I had lost track of time. My cell, or more specifically my mum's cell beeped. I picked up the phone and there a mixture of high amplitude sound waves which nearly ruptured my ear drums. They were, without any second thought, my buddies who were also selected for this prestigious meet. They had already reached the railway station (Here here, I was the only guy in the whole team who was laid back while the others were nearly exploding with enthusiasm.) All of them shouted collectively through the phone, 'You bloody slowpoke, can't you pack your things a little faster! The train is going to leave in 20 minutes.' My heart skipped a beat or two by hearing this. I rushed to the railway station and got a dashing welcome, a dull thud on my spine. Perhaps for the first time in my life, I was quite happy to be in the railway station because there were so many people whom I recognized and I was also going to Bhopal without my parents :P After a few minutes of chit chat with friends and their ever annoying and interrogating parents (Sometimes I think they are actually better than the interrogation squad of FBI), the train arrived with a whistling sound with whom I fell in love at first hearing. Its not that I am fond of those shrill whistling horns of those trains, but since I was going to participate in an inter school meet with my friends and that train was the first step towards my rapidly rising excitement. So its natural that I had fell in love with that sound as many of my close friends call me real life Naruto when it comes to journeys and inter school meets ;)
After a few minutes of emotional drama which is very common in Indian families when someone is going to a far off place for a considerable period of time. We bid adieu to our families and started keeping our luggage at our respective berths. The first thrill of the tour started with a friendly fight to get the window seat. After some friendly fights, swearing and music beats, we got out dinner packs. This time the fight was..umm not exactly friendly for a observing passenger. The fight was to eat others dinner packs and hide yours. It was quite ironic that the food was not that tasty for which we guys wasted our valuable calories. After the boring dinner, everyone started making strategies how to peek on a hot girl who was sitting in the next compartment. After some fool-proof plans and awesome strategies, our great, perverted, testosterone charged soldiers marched towards the next compartment to check out the girl and ended up in finding an auntie instead of that girl. Damn! Failure in peeking issues hurt :( The first night passed away quite peacefully for almost all students who had plugged ear phones into their ears and were tapping their legs all the night. Yes, I did mention almost, not all. Everyone except me, Chaitanya and Anik were sleeping or were pretending to sleep. The three great perverted warriors set out after midnight to find any sleeping beauties and to stand near the door where the cold wind's fury was maximum. After Anik went to sleep due to an overdose of cold air, I and Chaitanya stood near the gate, chatting all the night away. Next morning, with heavy and puffy eyes, we started helping the girls in taking out their luggage out of the train to the platform of Raipur station where we were supposed to board the train which headed off to Bhopal.
